I've been trying to make time to spin each day. Some days I get in an hour, other days it's much less than that, but it's been quite relaxing to be creating yarn again. Phyllis, who writes the blog, Phyllis's View, sent me a box of processed fiber from her own animals as a thank you for a quilt that I sent her. Well, that was months ago, (a year ago?) and I'm finally getting around to spinning some of it. I'm guessing that the light blue/lavender fiber that I'm spinning is a blend of mohair and wool.
This past weekend we loaded up our kayaks to do a bit of paddling in the mountains. It was smoky from the forest fires and in the distance we could see the helicopters flying to the burning areas with their buckets filled with water or fire retardant. It's been a rough fire year for Idaho and so much of it has burned, which is sad to see. Even with the smoke in the air it felt wonderful to be gliding on the water again, just watching the birds and enjoying the afternoon with my family.
Here's hoping that you have time for fiber/fabric today,
