Spinning Fat Cormo Singles

I've been spinning a Cormo top that I dyed a few weeks back. To dye this top, I dripped blue dye on the Cormo top, starting with a strong dye solution, and working to a very diluted blue dye solution, leaving some white sections for variety. I decided to create a fat singles, which is harder than you think once you've become used to spinning thin yarn. As I spin, I'm reminding myself to pull more fiber with my hands, keeping the yarn thick.

I'm spinning this top using a 6.5:1 ratio on my Matchless wheel.

Spinning is such a relaxing hobby with the gratification of watching the yarn develop as the fiber flows over my fingers.  Have you tried spinning lately?

Here's hoping that you have time for fiber/fabric today,
Judy

Sigh...no, I haven't gotten to either my spinning wheel or looms in quite a while. I really need to do both! But I sure enjoy looking at your beautiful yarn, so it almost makes up for my neglect of that tool!

That yarn looks really nice.

Like the changes to your blog - lovely! I keep thinking I should update mine, but never make the time for it. I hope seeing your will inspire me too.

I can't seem to comment on your loom disaster post. Tomatoes on my eyes???

Is there any way that you can return this loom to the person who sold it to you? If she stated it was a particular loom then she can't expect to get away with that. To sell something as "I think it is a ..." is not really good enough. I would consider making another approach to the seller. That is so annoying and upsetting, not to mention expensive. At worst try to sell it on, there may be someone wanting one.

So pretty! One day, when I find the perfect drop spindle, I will give spinning a try.
