As it happens, I just discovered a book from my local library, The New Handmade: Simple Sewing for Contemporary Style by Cassie Barden. She has some clever designs from neat bags (I want to maker her bird-watcher messenger bag) to useful items for the kitchen, including a cozy for a French press. Ah, great timing! I found some coffee themed fabric with bright colors to go with my kitchen-
and I pulled a bright batik from my stash for the lining.
I added two layers of leftover wool batting for the center, sewed on some velcro and the cozy was done. My son is quite happy with it!
Yesterday we woke up to fresh powder on the ground, which was simply lovely to see. I had to take my camera out while shoveling to snap some photos. Sam, my golden retriever, is my shoveling buddy. There's something quite refreshing about fresh snow.I'm off to work on a quilt for a special someone.
Have a great day,
Judy

That fluffy snow is very pretty......we never get snow here, if any falls (a rare occurrence indeed) it melts before it hits the ground. Go Sam! That's great coffee fabric too.
Aw! Look at how happy Sam is! Love the cozy. That's the perfect fabric, isn't it? Well done!
While reading your post I wonderd; what is a French press? But now I know, we call it a cafetiere. But the cozy is so sweet. Lucky Seb.
