WIP-Seb's Mariner's Compass Quilt

I wanted to welcome the new followers to my blog and I hope to get to know you better!

For some time now I've been talking about the mariner's compass quilt, and I'm so, so, so, glad to report that I'm now machine quilting it. Hurrah for that!! I decided to go with a light blue Kona cotton fabric for the back which matches the hand dyed fabrics quite well. I'm using Quilters Dream Wool batting, which is very soft and warm. Paula, from The Quilter blog, gave me a good tip of not quilting it much to retain the loft of the wool, so I'm doing just simple outline quilting on this. I love working with and wearing wool as it's such an incredible fiber.

I'll share some of the skiing photos with you, as you know I'm dreaming of skiing while I'm inside quilting :-)

This is Lindsey, who is married to our son Zach and she's doing a run on the front of the mountain.

This is Nicki, who is engaged to our son Aaron, and this is her first run on the backside of the mountain.

Here's hoping that you have a great weekend,
Judy

Lovely quilt Judy and I am interested in the wool batting as I have never used it. Enjoy your snow and your skiing.
