Back to the coasters, I ran them through my Go! cutter using the hexagon shape which is a great time saver. Before trying hexies, I never really understood the desire/addiction of hand piecing using paper/cardboard templates, but now I understand as I'm thoroughly hooked.
After reading Allie's book, I've been dreaming about what kind of crazy quilt I want to make. I think I want to use some hand painted silk pieces to create it, so I'm off to visit the local thrift shops to find white or off-white vintage silk shirts. The searching is half the fun! Maybe I'll find more neat silk ties....
Have a great weekend,
Judy

You are so talented!
I love looking at thrift stores to re-purpose things. I always see the most wonderful ties!
Your coasters are looking good and I like the idea of a stabiliser on the back of the silk
They are lovely and isn't silk beautiful to work with . Hexies are very addictive and seems you caught the bug ;-) Enjoy your hunt for more silks.
Silk ties are gorgeous.....and if you are lucky enough to find wide ties, that's a large piece of fabric!
Ja, das mag ich auch sehr, diese Kravatten aus Seide. In meinem Vorrat hat es einige davon, auch aus einem Brockenhaus! Dann weiterhin viel Freude mit deinen Kravatten.

Those are quite cute! I love hexagons, but I'm not sure I can do all the hand piecing part.....
